In addition, during the summer months, this rooftop will turn into an impromptu cinema. One Sunday a month during June, July, and August, the Emperador terrace will smell of freshly popped popcorn and screen hits from one of Spain’s most renowned directors, Pedro Almodóvar.

If you plan to have a meal, don’t miss the bao bread with spare ribs at a low temperature (€14) and our favorite, the red tuna focaccia. And if you fancy a cocktail, we tried two and loved them both: Sex in Santo Domingo, with vodka, peach liqueur, mango puree, pineapple juice, and mint leaves (€13) and Zombie, with spiced rums, orange juice, and passion fruit puree (€13).
